Job Purpose:
The Chief Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial health and strategy of a consortium of SMEs. Responsibilities include overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting while ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to risk management, financial performance optimization, and efficiency enhancement, directly contributing to business growth and sustainability in a dynamic economic landscape.

Job Responsibilities:
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to analyze business performance.
  • Manage budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Develop short-term and long-term business plans to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and enhance financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage income, cash flow, and expenditures to maintain financial stability.
  • Oversee financial documentation within the company’s SharePoint system.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with auditors for accurate financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide financial insights to executives and stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance to minimize liabilities and ensure accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape to refine financial strategies.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar finance role.
  • At least 5 years of UAE experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (preferred).
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
  • Expertise in financial software applications such as QuickBooks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong background in strategic financial planning and analysis.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate across functions.
  • Experience in leading and coordinating financial audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Proficiency in risk management and financial forecasting techniques.
