Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Logistics and Dispatch Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations for a steel manufacturing company. The role includes managing the import of raw materials, distribution of finished goods, and ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position spans duties for the company, its subsidiaries, and associated entities.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient movement and imports of raw materials and finished products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and customers to meet production and delivery schedules.
  • Align internal production schedules with external delivery timelines.
2. Transportation and Distribution Management:
  • Manage transportation operations, including carrier selection, freight contract negotiations, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE transportation laws and safety regulations.
  • Optimize delivery routes and methods to reduce costs and improve lead times.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics coordinators, custom officers, and transportation personnel.
  • Provide training, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventories, and operations.
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics performance for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with shipment documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
  • Adhere to workplace safety and environmental standards in logistics operations.
  • Enforce compliance in handling, transporting, and disposing of materials.
  • Address additional tasks assigned by the reporting head.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification in logistics is a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of logistics management experience, preferably in the steel or manufacturing industry.
  • Proven expertise in transportation, import processes (air, sea, and road), and inventory systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, supply chain management systems, and SAP.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UAE transportation laws and industry regulations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier and client sites as required.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position with standard working hours and occasional overtime.
  • Office-based with visits to warehouses, transportation hubs, and manufacturing plants.
