Job Brief:
Our client, a leading steel manufacturing company, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Inspector to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products across various fabrication processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company-specific quality requirements. This role requires hands-on experience in quality control within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and assess fabrication processes, including laser cutting, welding, machining, painting, shot blasting, and water jet cutting.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional tests using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Accurately document inspection results, maintain quality records, and generate reports on non-conformities.
  • Identify and report any defects or discrepancies, working closely with the production team to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems and other applicable industry standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment as per quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with different departments to resolve quality-related issues and enhance production efficiency.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards, methodologies, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D fabrication drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols and assessment of weld quality.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards (ISO 9001 or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus.
  • Certifications in quality control or inspection (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are an advantage.

Work Environment:
  • The role is based in a workshop/production facility with exposure to various fabrication and manufacturing environments.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn as per safety regulations.
